Welcome to the second CR Meme of Futurology S2! Have fun and be good to each other.



MISSION: DRAKSTADEN PLOTTING

After Mission: Azeria (the test drive meme), characters will have spent a week on Headquarters before receiving the dossier for Mission: Drakstaden. They will have another week to prepare, after which they will be rifted to another universe.

Mission breakdown:

• The first log will go up on 15 April.
  
• The mission is tentatively scheduled to last until mid-June, but this may change depending on character action.
  
• The Bounty Board will be updated once the mission begins.
  
• There will be a locations page up by 15 April.
  
• View the dossier for all ICly-known information about what to expect.
  
• Characters are encouraged to blend in, and will be outfitted with appropriate clothing before their arrival. For characters who cannot pass as human, they will be provided with cloaking devices that will allow all non-Hathaway personnel to view them as natives.

▸ PERSONALITY: Prickly and opinionated but if you manage to get under her thick skin she can be very warm and friendly! It's nothing personal, she's just used to people bailing on her, so she tries not to get attached. She does have a heart of gold, though, and prefers to help rather than hurt. She's a freedom fighter at heart and prefers to be on the side of the little guy.
▸ DESIRED CR: Genuinely nice people to get under her skin and allow her to marvel at how they can be that way. Assholish people to reenforce her worldview. Really anyone and everyone, but I just want Zari to make lots of friends and be baffled by that fact.
▸ OFFERED CR: Particularly relevant to this mission: HACKER SKILLS. She's done the freedom fighter/fighting against a corrupt government thing before so she can help guide people along as needed. Also if you need a mom friend or a big sister type, she's there to fill those slots.
▸ PLANS: I've been a little slow to play with all the mission mechanics in the last mission, but I'm looking to toss her in fully for this one, so please feel free to rope her into all kinds of shenanigans! I don't have any direct direct plans yet, but I'm hoping to make the most of being in her wheelhouse.

Hello! So I've somehow missed out on interacting with Zari this whole time and I feel this needs to be fixed (especially after a certain hats-and-clogs wearing friend name dropped her).

He's got wind powers too and could DEFINITELY use some support this mission since it is so out of his element (didn't mean that pun). I also like the idea of more people taking on mentor/older sibling dynamics with him since he isn't used to that being a thing that happens. Please help him not crash and burn on this mission.

▸ PERSONALITY: Little brother material. He's 10, usually able to handle himself well though. Friendly little tough nerd and usually easy to get along with. He used to be enslaved to a human, so if you try to treat him in any way like a tool (or anyone else), he's very likely to punch you. And if he likes you enough, he's bound to die for you aggressively fight for you. He's more likely to cry about your wellbeing than his own.
▸ DESIRED CR:

- Positive or negative CR is OK! He is likely to keep his distance if things go down a bad end, but we can work things out like forcing our characters to work together.
- A lot of what he does is for his daemon auntie Velvet, who he greatly cares for and would even lose an arm for lol. I want him to grow to care for more people on the same level/MORE PEOPLE TO CARE FOR THAT ISN'T VELVET. Whether it be through building up current CR or new CR.
- Always up for more friendships. But I'm especially a huge sucker for found family.
- More nonhumans to hang out with.
- He's not bringing up certain details about himself to avoid people worrying about him but I'd like to see if anyone's able to figure out what's going on with him/his past/his potential fate at home... he'd rather worry about other people.
- Also I'm obviously not limited to this list :') I'm down for most things!

- Someone to stop you from doing something stupidly reckless and try to calm you down
- He can use magic ("artes") - elemental spells, healing, and a weak barrier. He also has the power of purification which is something he can't control... I won't bring this up much unless you want to plot something with it!
- He looks human but he's actually a spiritual being and considered a "fragment of an Empyrean" ... which is essentially a god? So here's some supernatural CR for you.
- In canon, he has a human vessel to dwell inside of. since she's an appable character, he's using his jewelcomm as his vessel here in futuro!! so uh, if anyone ever wants to carry him in around in a more smaller, portable form... he can actually go inside his jewelry and sit inside of it like a box. I'M NOT SURE HOW THIS WILL EVEN COME UP, BUT IT'S A THING.

▸ PLANS: Laphicet comes from a very low-tech canon that was similar to the previous mission, so he might need a little help with the cybernetics stuff. He will try to make himself useful!!! He's going to use his inventor specialization to create a fake robotic casing on his arm and it's going to look like a shitty homemade one cause he's level 1. Maybe I'll have him get bullied by some upper class kid full of cybernetics????

He also really likes bugs so he's probably going to be picking up all the arthropods. :| I would really like to do some bounties and special ones to level up his specialization! HMU!

▸ ANYTHING ELSE? Laphicet is part of a race of spiritual beings with a bunch of weird shit going on with him like sensing impurities in living things.. I've been gradually playing it down a little (and mainly have him react to more "extreme" emotions) since it's sort of a normal thing for him. ▸ PERSONALITY: Quiet, taciturn, logical and blunt, Violet at times can appear more like a robot than a human. Her emotional development has been severely stunted, but don't let her doll-like demeanor fool you. Despite her emotionless exterior, Violet has a depth of feeling she struggles to express and understand.

▸ DESIRED CR: It's kind of cliche to say "ALL THE CR" but, I'm new, so, all the CR. In particular though I would love some more emotionally-competent or chatty friends for Violet, since she is often bad at carrying conversation. THAT SAID I also love CR between Violet and other taciturn individuals, so long as you don't mind that their threads may occasionally be short and blunt. I do also love negative CR, so if you have some of that don't hesitate to hit me up. I ALSO!! Would love to get some CR with other characters with prosthetic limbs, if we have any!

▸ OFFERED CR: Even though you wouldn't be able to tell just by looking at her, Violet cares deeply about other people and their problems. She loves to listen to others and also try to fix relationships she perceives to be broken. If you need a mediator or shoulder to cry on, she'll be there. Also if you just want a straight man 4 ur jokes, she'll be there for that too.

▸ PLANS: Violet should blend in fairly well in Drakstaden, given that she looks fairly Nordic in appearance and has two fairly advanced mechanical arms, but... she also... cannot lie. So uh. ▸ PERSONALITY: At first glance, Urahara is a flippant, mischievous doofus with terrible fashion sense. At second glance, he's still all those things, but there's definitely something way more intense about him. He's basically ten pounds of bullshit in a five pound sack. He's smart, cunning, often manipulative, but generally thinks he has the best interests of everyone at heart. He's still kinda getting used to the fact that he doesn't need to carry the weight of making choices on just his shoulders. Also he recently canon updated! Which changed very little about his outward personality, but has changed his perspective a bit.

He's not necessarily a good friend, but he is a loyal one, and after what transpired during his canon update, he's not likely to send anyone he truly cares for into a situation he wouldn't go, himself.

Also he's a shinigami. And a scientist. And basically a ninja. Sighs.
▸ DESIRED CR: Urahara has lost so much CR between the shift to Hathaway and I really want to build some new stuff! He's sort of falling back on obfuscating and pretending to be less anime haxx than he is, because it allows him to get a good feel for what the new people can do. I am open for anything and everything!

▸ PLANS: SO URAHARA IS GOING INTO THIS MISSION MISSING AN EYE. I mean he has a glass one, but it's gonna be interesting as he toys with whether or not he wants to consider building a cybernetic eye one day. He's not getting one, for goddamn sure because shinigami BS, but this is new, uncharted territory for him and he's curious about how it might work.

But of course he is also invested in the mission. Honestly, he'll be pretty open to either imprisoning or outright QUIETLY assassinating the corrupt, because... former stealth squad yo. He'll be really good at the stealthy parts of this mission, which is bound to surprise people and create many interesting CR opportunities! Hopefully.

Also his "cover" story (or rather his "day job") for blending in will be a physicist looking to expand his horizons into cybernetic research in the hopes of creating something new. His night job may be quiet assassinations depending on how this goes. We shall see.

▸ PERSONALITY: Prickly and evasive about his feelings, Keith can seem like a hard nut to crack at times. He isn't very good at other people because he's socially awkward, and he isn't always the best at reading social cues (or even being aware that a particular social cue exists). He's a burgeoning leader, but he's not entirely confident in that (and is about to take a blow to his confidence soon).
▸ DESIRED CR: People who will push and challenge Keith, buddy cop moments where Keith is the straight man, training montage CR (since those can be hard to RP), negative CR.
▸ OFFERED CR: A prickly guy who's good for negative CR (though it may not remain that way—Keith can warm up to someone surprisingly quickly if given the chance). Training (fighting and piloting, though obviously the latter isn't in play unless they're at the HQ). Slow burn friendships. Stupid arguments about nothing.
▸ PLANS: Keith will be keen about exploring and doing "in the shadows" type stuff in this world. His usual undercover plan is to get a job and see how it can be used. He has a stealth suit and stealth gear that he'll be bringing along on this mission.

▸ PERSONALITY: Veronica is the outgoing half of the Betty&Veronica duo on Riverdale, making her an extremely extroverted teenager who doesn't seem to realize when she's in over her head. The funny thing is, she does know, as she's the voice of reason when it comes to a lot of antics in the show. (Veronica isn't one for optimism, though her cherry personality may indicate a different perspective.) She is a bit of a romantic when it comes to ideal friendships, but intimacy beyond that can be a little hard. Not that she makes this obvious at all. Above all else, she's a force of nature when she wants to get something done.
▸ DESIRED CR: Friends, people to argue with, makeover opportunities, and people who will help Veronica despite the fact that she has to act as if she's a member of the lower class (she's got reading glasses). She'll be acting as Lance's sister for the mission, so Lance's CR (if it doesn't overlap) would be fun!
▸ OFFERED CR: Veronica is good for both slice of life-style CR (makeovers, dancing, singing, shit like that) and also for enabling people into doing something ... or questioning whether it's a good idea. She's both an enabler and someone who can balance out someone else's poor decisions. She's not opposed to doing things that are outside of her wheelhouse, so dangerous plans or whatever. She's the daughter of a mobster, so she's … probably a little openminded about sketchy stuff.
▸ PLANS: My personal plan is for some of Veronica's shadier tendencies to come to light even more. Depending on a few things, she may need a new bodyguard, and she won't want to go without one in this world. My ridiculous plan is to get Ronnie in on a thing that involves her being ridiculous and wearing a catsuit because that's how you do stealth, right. She will probably reference The Hunger Games at some point.

▸ PERSONALITY: Dedicated to the path of the warrior as she knows it, duty, loyalty, ritual, honor, and sacrifice are the tenants by which she has lived her life. Quick to take offense, not one to waste words, a bit of a man hater, and possessed of perpetual bitchface, most of Hayame's manners and subservience are reserved only for her master(s). In this case, Hathaway as long as they promise her the incentive. Beneath this, however, is a deep seated sense of shame, failure, and loneliness that she tries to compensate for. She's also still rather uncomfortable with magic, advanced tech, world-hopping, and space.

▸ DESIRED CR: Lady friends. Fellow warriors. Japanese characters she doesn't have to explain her references to. People from similar enough worlds to relate to but different enough that she can slowly accustom herself to the unfamiliar... but, I'll take anyone who can put up with her, tbh. I know it's hard.

She'll need a lot of work getting her fighting ability as a centaur up to par in a human body so I imagine there will be some... adjustment issues. He likes to think that he is the strong silent type, and happens to have very strong opinions on politics and religion* (*the Jedi). Also he's not actually all that silent, but he likes to think he is. His temper is on a hairpin trigger and he's really easy to annoy and infuriate -- which could be hilarious or terrible depending on your sense of humor. As such, he's extremely hard to get close to...but if he decides he likes you in any capacity, everyone else who gets near you will probably end up near the business end of the lightsaber before they can blink. Yes, even your friends. He's very protective of people who like him, because there are not very many of them.

Also, he's gone through a recent moral crisis thanks to certain gods of mischief who shant be named.

▸ DESIRED CR: Ren is generally on the look out for people who will be useful, or people he can manipulate into doing dirty work he doesn't feel like doing. Strictly business -- he personally doesn't want anyone getting too close to him, because that's how people find WEAKNESSES!!!! And he wants to find YOUR weakness, not the other way around.

That said, he has some pretty clear points to be needled. He's got a pretty good wealth of "positive" CR and a web of negative CR, so I'm ready to build off of those. He's been fairly interactive with most of the crew, so I am ready for everyone's relationships to get mixed up with one another. :)

The good news is despite this he is a man who prioritizes Getting Shit Done, and can be reliable in the right occasion. He's that co-worker nobody really likes, but no one can say he doesn't get the job done at the end of the day.

▸ PERSONALITY: ex-cop turned security specialist turned INTERPOL agent (secretly spying for an underground hacker organization.) he sounds like he eats his cigarettes instead of smoking them, but beneath that shiny mirrorshaded veneer of gruffness, he's a guy with a strong sense of justice and a real drive to do what's right. can't resist accepting sidequests from people in need. slow to trust, but fiercely loyal to the people he does care about.

- he's going to want to make friendly with someone good with cybernetics maintenance/repair, since it's more than half of him and he'd prefer sticking with one person he can trust.
- always happy for positive CR, but negative CR is something i've never really had with him -- he's kind of a boy scout sometimes and can call out people if they've got a more morally-grey approach to doing things. also he wears his sunglasses indoors, he's pretty easy to make fun of.
- drinking buddies, 'cause he shouldn't be allowed to be a sadsack and drink alone
- i like the "field agent + guy in the chair" relationship, so if you have anyone who isn't really the sort to get out there and get their hands dirty... he can be their field guy. 👍 for someone who's not always great with authority figures, he kinda does do best when given orders/direction.

▸ PERSONALITY: Ahad likes to pretend he's too cool for school. He's deeply sarcastic, occasionally nihilistic, and tends toward apathy. Part of Ahad doesn't want to give a damn about people, and he works very sort of hard at keeping up that facade. (He's improved with time!)

Unfortunately for Ahad, he's also the god of love in his universe. What that means is that not caring keeps him weak and could also become harmful to him. He needs intimacy to survive and thrive, but is still bitter about it. He's prickly on the surface, but is secretly a lot softer underneath.

▸ DESIRED CR: Nice people, anyone who's also very jaded, asshole drinking buddies, people with opinions on gods, nonhumans, and so on! I'm always excited about cr that can push Ahad out of his comfort zone, so come at me.

▸ OFFERED CR: Ahad's good at being stubborn, if anyone wants someone to challenge their point of view. There's a potential for negative cr, as long as it's fine if it's one-sided. Beyond this, he's also there for anyone who wants to interact with someone who happens to be a god. Plus, he needs intimate relationships (even if he fights it), so there's always cr potential with friendship and such.

He can kind of sense things about intimate relationships too (it's part of the god of love thing), so that has potential as well. I'm always interested in playing with hilarious things Ahad might pick up on, as the god of love.

▸ PLANS: I have nothing solid yet. I mean, generally Ahad approves of destroying corrupt governments, so he's likely going to be more keen than usual to get involved. He's good at stealth, but isn't necessarily that familiar with this type of technologically advanced society. He's going to have to observe and learn.

▸ PERSONALITY: He has a serious, dour appearance but beneath that, he's an awkward but well-meaning guy with a pretty strong belief that if you can help someone, you should do it. He's used to being the punch-y guy but he was assigned the Sentinel specialization, so now he's the shield-y guy and it's a transition that he's taking a bit more awkwardly than he would've thought. Lately, after a conversation with Imogen, he's decided to try and be as encouraging as possible to his teammates, to make everybody feel valued. Up until this point, he hasn't figured out a better way to do this than to just randomly give people a thumbs up and tell them they're doing a good job.

▸ DESIRED CR:
- Specific to this mission, Amado's very, very big on freedom so Drakstaden is going to piss him right off. Anybody who wants to undertake some rebellious activity, he's going to be very, very down for it. Let's break stuff and piss off the secret cops, then let's beat up the secret cops.
- Bruiser buddies to do a sword and shield-type thing with. He'll jump in front of a hail of bullets for you so you can go beat up the people shooting at them.
- Other Sentinel buddies to help him learn the ropes of being all helpful and nurturing and stuff. Also, just generally, teaming up to protect/help others. If we could get any kind of organization and communication between Hathaway's Sentinels, I would be SUPER on board for that.
- Friendly rivals. Amado has a competitive streak as well. They can try to show each other up during missions and then go at it in the training facilities between missions.
- Younger characters, teens. Amado's a dad and seeing people tangibly younger than him is gonna set off alarm bells in his head, especially in the more dangerous situations. He's going to try being protective, but can also dip his toe in the mentoring pool.

- Want a Sentinel buddy to shield you from lasers, bullets, knives, fists and harsh pointy words? Amado can help there!
- He will try to be very encouraging. He believes in you. You're doing a great job.
- He can be a moral compass. He believes very strongly in doing the right thing, helping people, showing mercy (most of the time), all that good stuff.
- He's also very tall. You can ride on his shoulders if you want to.
- If you want someone to stand there and look intimidating. He probably shouldn't talk, but he can glare menacingly and crack his knuckles real good.
- He's pretty easy to boss around, tbh, as long as there's some affection behind it.

- I still need to come up with a fake backstory and identity for Amado for Drakstaden, if anybody wants to team up on that, wants a fake family member or something like that, hit me up.

- Authoritarian stuff really pisses him off. He's gonna wanna raise all sorts of hell and he's gonna be all-in on assisting the Rost during Drakstaden.

- I'm sure whatever the bounties are, I'm gonna wanna do 'em. I'll be up to do a Spec bounty again in May, if anybody else who's up at the same time wants to plan to hit the ground running on that, I'd be happy to do that.
