TL;FIRST IMPRESSIONS It's been a month since the opening of the game, everyone's gotten to know eachother! Between what needs to be done, of course. That means it's time for some first impressions! This is pretty simple (it's just a tl;cr meme in disguise): — Make a comment with your character's name in the title. — Comment to people. PHOENIX is actually someone Riza has a good amount of faith in. He's competent, intelligent, hard-working - all of which are bueno in her book and highly likely to earn people many brownie points. She doesn't have too much experience with defense lawyers given that all trials in her world are conducted by the military and they're all biased as heck so his need to proven the goblins innocent is definitely something she finds fascinating, in a good way. There's not a whole lot of people out there who are committed to doing the right and fair thing, especially when it pits them against the views of the majority, so that also earns him points on her book.

She's a wee bit concerned about his ability to protect himself should push come to shove, so please try not to do anything rash that might result in grievous injury or even death. 8(

—But anyway! Riza likes Kida, to say the least, largely because Kida's a very honest person and very forthcoming with her thoughts and emotions (that she's seen so far, at least). She's too used to people in loftier positions not really giving a shit about anyone but themselves, so the fact that Kida cares so much about her people and her culture is really admirable and gives her a definite leg up in Riza's book. There's also a part of Riza that hurts a lot for Kida and the losses her people have gone through but I already wrote you a tl;dr novel on that in my tag so I won't chatter too much about it.

She'd like to know more about Kida and the Atlantis culture, though she won't push too much on that if it's not something Kida's willing to talk about it. (Some people don't like to talk too much about the things that hurt them and she can respect that!) But in any case, she trusts Kida to make the right decision if things get tough, even if Kida does tend to be a wee bit hotheaded sometimes. Her heart's in the right place and that's what matters most.

I don't have too much to say since we've only had our one thread (which is me being lame, I really need to hit you up more in November) but Pearl is definitely someone Riza has a good first impression of. She seems to have her shit together and has a good team approach towards things instead of standing off in a corner and doing only things for herself. Having been part of a team for several years, Riza really appreciates Pearl's willingness to dive in and be as helpful as she can.

Also Pearl seems very sweet and like someone Riza would like to get to know better, assuming none of them get kidnapped and used for a sacrifice during the course of this mission.

but actually, apart from him being hella shady the first time, Riza doesn't think he's an awful person. Sure, he's kind of weird and definitely sketchy, but he did offer to magic up her papers for her, which no one else bothered to do. He also gave out the list of disappeared people and was (reasonably) polite during all of their exchanges, so even if he ends up being some super evil dark lord of everything he's at least got that going for him. She can appreciate good manners in anyone. :(b

For the time being, Riza's more inclined to warily trust him and at least listen to what he has to say without tossing it all aside immediately.

First things first, he seems like highly competent and responsible, two traits that she highly respects in a person. He didn't lose his shit during the lantern festival and he'd been focused and intelligent during their discussion, so more brownie points for him! (Though no actual brownies since she can't bake to save her life.) She doesn't feel comfortable imposing on him at a personal level just yet but he's definitely someone she'd look towards if the current mission at hand ends up being too much for her to handle alone.

Also she likes his gentle humor about things and his general easygoing-ness. He's definitely someone she wouldn't mind spending more time around and getting to know during downtime.

ROOMIES.....!! ~~/o/ we should do more roomie threads one day, just saying

but!! while Riza is Unhappy about the sheer number of kids and young adults ALASTAIR has decided to pluck out of nowhere for their questionable needs, she nonetheless likes all the kids she's met thus far and Frey is no exception. She's been very sweet and honest in their encounters, and definitely willing to reach out and help other people, if her offer to share a room is any indication. Frey is definitely the kind of person Riza wants to see happy in life, whether that means getting married and starting a family or going off on really great adventures and seeing the world. She's also pretty curious as to the world Frey comes from and her background - I assume they've probably swapped stories about their hometowns and all that fun stuff.

Frey's good cheer and optimism is something she really admires too, and hopefully that optimistic outlook on life isn't something that's extinguished by their missions here. Also Riza's not exactly 100% Team Mom but rest assured that if anyone ever threatens Frey, she'll be kicking their ass six ways 'til Sunday.
