I do not believe such a complicated choice could be explained well in this forum, but I prioritize latent magical ability, intelligence, physical prowess...
What's the balance there? Are they weighted? Is it a sum total kind of situation? If somebody was a buff genius would you consider them even if they were non-magical? Do you consider personality as a factor, given that it has a genetic component?
Though I am willing to make concessions on some aspects, I value their magical prowess most highly, so I shall not be making exceptions on that front.
Personality I do not think matters as terribly much... if they are foul tempered I need not have contact with them after the conception, so the effects on the child could be minimized.
So you are a proponent of nurture being a much stronger force than nature?
I suppose the best that can be done in that case is to suggest you steer clear of sociopaths for your list, if you're still concluded that you need such a thing. There's an undeniable genetic component to that sort of personality disorder.
I am, yes. I am sure my personality is quite different from my own father- perhaps they may be inclined one way or the other, but how one is raised will win out, I believe.
I'll just come out and say it, then: any of the grown men here who would agree to father a child on you when you hit childbearing age don't deserve to be on anyone's breeding list, simply by dint of being willing to consent to intercourse with a child.
Anonymity gives this forum every right to vent off some of the ill behaviour they display on a day to day basis. If we cannot tear one another down in person, then perhaps by dint of lingering words of malice not pinned to any vest. This is what happens when you bring people together from such different worlds as to think more the alien of one another.
My suggestion is to shrug off the worst of it, treat it for the silly fluff that it is, and vent your own grievances without paying mind to the answers you receive.

You can do better.
