SQUIDGE: Tell us all about your little miracle. Squidges come in various colors and patterns, and can easily be taught their name. Go wild! Remember, squidges often imitate their caretakers, but that doesn't mean they don't have a personality of their own. Squidges are prone to forming strong bonds with other squidges, and although it's more rare, have rivalries. This is an easy way to kickstart CR!

NAME: Elise

TAGGING HABITS: I'm EST and I usually tag at night, anywhere from 9PM to 5AM. I'll backtag forever, and while I try to be pretty consistent there are times I drop off due to traveling orz
INTERESTS: Cosplay! I'm experiencing a resurgence in my interest in a lot of anime/manga so I'm currently trying to watch new things! And Gintama, always.

CHARACTER INFO.
NAME: Hijikata Toushirou
CANON: Gintama
PERSONALITY: Hijikata has been an embarrassment so far, but he does have a very type-A personality when it comes to getting things done. He's focused and intends to ensure that others around him are doing their jobs right as well. In that regard he can be a bit intrusive, since they're all supposed to be a 'team', but he doesn't make friends easily at all - he's much better at finding people to bicker and fight with.
WANTED CR: He's awkward around girls, which means I WANT HIM TO MEET ALL OF THEM make him suffer. I'd also really love for him to find some people he can actually work with, whether they're like minded in accomplishing their mission or simply good at following directions. I'm absolutely NEVER against him finding more people to banter with, though!
OPEN POSTS: none at the moment
RECAP: Hijikata got here and immediately got into a food fight with Gintoki, I'm sure it was a fairly visible embarrassing moment for them both lmao - after that he generally tried to be helpful(?) with people affected by the orbs. Then he took a dip in the hot springs only to discover a naked woman - he won't be back. Generally, he's been keeping to himself, but with the introduction of a mission he'll reach out more in an attempt to coordinate.
PLANS: I'd like his squidge to live! Even if it has a terrible smoker's cough by the end of this lmao - I'm hoping it could be a little more outgoing than he is, if only by being more juvenile at initiating interactions, to see what CR develops! As unaffected as Hijikata acts, he wouldn't just leave a poor lonely abandoned squidge to die so if anyone wants to thrust theirs into his care he'd begrudgingly take it.

MISSION SPECIFIC.
SURVIVAL SKILLS: Hijikata lived as a run-away for several years, so he has fairly adept survival skills. Not that he'll really recognize much of the fauna around, as anything not indigenous to Japan or incredibly common between alien worlds would be beyond him.
PARENTING SKILLS: A lot of the people around him back home are idiots, so he's good at corralling and keeping things structured and safe. However, some of his methods are threatening or hitting or other not-great parenting habits, so mileage may vary LOL also he won't stop smoking so that second-hand smoke concern is very real.
SQUIDGE: He hasn't named his squidge anything, he's just calling it 'that thing'. It's a dark blue, and pudgier than most squidges due to it's diet of mayonnaise. Since squidges imitate their caretakers, he's probably sort of stand off-ish but with a helpful heart. He's absolutely is competitive, and likes to try and out-do other male squidges around him.

What sort of plans does Riza have for this whole squidge thing? She seems responsible enough, maybe they could collaborate or something they thought was a great idea could backfire? :Ua

anyway i assume her plan is to make sure

a) her own squidge survives fine, and
b) no one else kills their squidge

so i'm sure they could collaborate and start up like a squidge daycare or smth, idk. but i am always in favor of great plans backfiring so i am more than happy to do that too. 8)

that said, work is kind of killing me dead right now so i won't be free until after july 4th but i'm definitely down with planning something in the meantime

That sounds similar to Hijikata's plan, though he's bad at intruding unless something dire is happeing adkjd;sf

He'd assume that she'd want to do the 'daycare' part while he went out and got food because he's stupidly gendered like that but feel free to kick his ass over it //smdh

Backfiring is great though, I think that no matter how things start it'd be fun to end them that way!

Hey! Now that we have details - I think Hijikata's going to head east, and I saw that Riza was also doing that - so we could have a thread with that endeavor!

Or we could do a general forest thread, if they want to run into the more aggressive plants.

I noticed that she's going the group method too, which Hijikata would PREFER, but I'm not sure what the grouping situation is for anyone ahha! If she's already got one that's fine but if you're still building we could do something with that \o/

yeah, I'm not sure what the group situation will look like -- I imagine we'll all #yolo it since group threads tend to be pretty unwieldy so we can all probably just hop around and tag each other on it.

that said, i'm definitely down for AGGRESSION and DANGER in the forest, since i don't think i have anything planned out for that yet, also i'm all about traumatizing squidges. 8) (though it sounds like they might be traumatized no matter where they go......)

i'm still monitoring my activity a little bit so i don't have a repeat of june whereupon i took on too many threads and then promptly died for three weeks, but i'm more than happy to write a closed prompt or hop on your top level if you're planning on making one!

arjuna is p. conscientious, esp. when it comes to orders and directions, if just bc he's all about adhering to expectations. i could see them working together... ... .... or, at least i think in theory. either way, i'll be sure to toss arjuna your way in the near future!!

I think they have great potential, and I'd love to thread! How are Arjuna's survival skills? Will he need help to keep his squidge in good condition?
