SQUIDGE: Tell us all about your little miracle. Squidges come in various colors and patterns, and can easily be taught their name. Go wild! Remember, squidges often imitate their caretakers, but that doesn't mean they don't have a personality of their own. Squidges are prone to forming strong bonds with other squidges, and although it's more rare, have rivalries. This is an easy way to kickstart CR!

PERSONALITY:
Gregarious, strongly built, bug eating vegan from a world full of sentient animal-people, Serene has appeared with a chip on her shoulder for being rejected from the Royal guard and is determined to Be The Best here. If there's a task to do she wants to triumph, if there's teamwork to be completed she wants to be a leading voice and if there's an argument she wants to win or least storm off with a good insult thrown over her shoulder. She likes people when they're not disgusting her by stuffing animal corpses in their mouths and is eager to make connections and jostle her way to the top of a friends group.

WANTED CR:

• Fellow vegetarians/vegans to reassert her faith in humanity
• Magic users to wow her with the possibilities of working for ALASTAIR. She's yet to discover the full range of benefits provided by her new workplace
• Lady friends to join in a hair brushing circle. She has more hair than any single human should .
• Someone looking for a knight in metaphorical armour to keep on eye on them. She didn't build up all her muscle just to be able to flex
• Alternatively a fellow knight in shining ALASTAIR uniform to spar with so she can keep her skills tip top
• THIRRRRSTflirts and casual lays of either sex. She doesn't do romance, but if you'd like your character rejected for getting way too attached she'll do it for you. I do love playing failed relationships

OPEN POSTS: Network post asking for alternatives to her world's version of the Pill and Log post for her first few days.
RECAP:
Serene arrived in Oska several weeks ago and is still settling in to being here.
PLANS:
Nothing specific! Through talking and being horrified at other people she'll eventually learn that her culture isn't the sole arbiter of morality. She'll gain magic powers of her own in a few months time, pending earning the coin to grant her those.

MISSION SPECIFIC.
SURVIVAL SKILLS:
Extensive: She comes from a preindustrial world and has lived off of the land for several years as a child soldier. She can forage, build camps, find water and deal with harsh weather (though apart from wandering through some chill mountains and catching pneumonia, she's never left a Mediterranean biome). She's got heavy stamina and is used to travelling on her feet. Give her some time to learn the night sky and she'll be able to navigate by the celestial bodies.

PARENTING SKILLS:
She doesn't have a maternal bone in her body for something that she can't have a reasoned conversation with. Looking after a squidge is her Assigned Duty so she'll cart it along, but she is going to be very unimpressed and hoping to find someone who'll do her share of mama duty while she goes and does the practical work.

SQUIDGE:
Lilac is the prettiest-coloured squidge, in Serene's opinion, truly fitting its very unimaginative name. 'She' is a gregarious creature, prone to clinging to people's hair and jumping on other squidges in overenthusiastic greetings. Serene fully indulges this rough and tumble. She'll get jealous of other squidges touching her human.

Except he's not too obnoxious about it, he just can't eat meat when he understands their cries of fear now (he can talk to animals)!

And with that fact he's going to prove everything that she suspects about the lies these carnivore humans tell themselves.

Now can he hear the cries of insect and other invertebrates? Because if so he's going to shake her world in the worst way too.

yes! probably not super efficiently, yet, because he hasn't got a lot of practice, but yes. :)

Ohhh, she definitely needs to find that out from him at some point, because she's convinced they don't really count as 'alive' alive. They're little bits of moving plant, aren't they?

Bugs, shrimp and shellfish: in short anything without obviously breathing lungs or a beating heart. She is unashamed of her bug-filled diet and doesn't understand why no one else enjoys pillbug scones when they're all happy to eat charred corpse flesh.

Now can he be convinced to chow does on tasty slugs~?

but yes I would love more CR with these two since she seems really interesting and I'm pretty sure they'll get along well. Meallan can definitely show off magic as well and could do with someone who can tank in combat because l o l glass cannon mage is a glass cannon.

also he can definitely give pointers on parenting as well if she'd like!

I've just gone and added you :D Yesss, they're bouncing off of each other well at the moment and I get the feeling they're keep bouncing off well as they get to know each other.

I was going to get around to tagging in that other CR meme: if he's looking for some help with self defence Serene could teach him to use a blade one-handed. He's at an obvious disadvantage but one stabbing hand is better than none.
