We here at Futurology have noticed something lately: our players are seriously talented. And what better way to show off your talents and check out others' than an art meme? How to play:
- Comment with a reference picture of your character and maybe an explanation of how they've personalized their uniform. Possibly receive a gift from a fellow player!
- Fellow players, browse the meme and maybe draw a few members of ALASTAIR!
- And/or comment and show us art you've already done! Make sure to mention if you're open for requests or art trades.
- If you have commissions open, feel free to advertise them here!
- For reference, this is the default, unpersonalized uniform:FRONT | BACK. Every piece of the uniform can be color-swapped to white, black, or purple, just like the coat.

She wears the purple ALASTAIR uniform and often with the overcoat/hood on. Her hair is done up in two thick wavy twintails (think arranged about the same way as depicted here) and hang out from the hood. V stylish. Purple scrunchies or bows, probably.
For the moment, when she feels like rejecting pants (which is fairly frequently), she replaces the pants with a functional purple or black skirt, paired with full-length black tights, and of course her boots.
She has her fingernails painted purple, let's hope they don't chip while she's, uh, toiling away on ALASTAIR missions. And some light makeup....

as for olivia in the uniform, once she finally gets around to feeling confident enough to wear it, she'll be wearing the white variation. she'll wear it pretty straightforwardly because she's too meek to make any drastic alterations on her own, but just today the amazing liz drew this up for me aND THE LITTLE JINGLES ARE TOO CUTE.

ramir has way too much art here and here. i am almost embarrassed of how much art i've accumulated. she also immediately modified that alastair uniform, and every time it gets destroyed and another one pops out, she will painstakingly modify that one too. you gotta be dedicated to your look, man. she's 5'7 or so and always has her nails done in COOL SCENE KID BLACK and might not ever have gone without bright red lipstick a day of her life.
khisanth is about 40 feet long as a dragon and looks like this. she's young and still growing and will get up to like 200 feet pretty fast (or at least in some years). her PB is maria ozawa who is an """""adult movie actress""""" so maybe don't google her in polite company, and she's about 5'9 as a human. always in the alastair uniform because she... has no other clothes.... clothes are such a hassle to come by :[
Because Undertale is entirely really small sprites with not a lot of detail, there are a lot of fandom interpretations about how characters would look fully-rendered. I've been using thisartist'sinterpretation primarily, since it's the one I've iconned most. (with persmission of course).
She wears the black uniform with pretty much no modifications, though she may exchange pants for fitted black leggings. Her fins are pliable and can be tucked under the hood when it's up.

hi we've never tagged and i haven't played undertale but i love this character design and this seemed like the perfect excuse to try drawing her... I HOPE THAT ISN'T WEIRD
i'll just use his ALASTAIR images as reference; why not
koltira prefers the black uniform style, in keeping with his #aesthetic he's very tall (6'5), w/ long white hair and glowing blue eyes. his skin is bluish-grey and has spiderweb cracks over its surface. also really thin, long, pointy ears & frankly OTT eyebrows
i know i just got here but yolo-- here is a full body picture of north, and another without his coat & hat, and a last one with his swords! for a height ref he's around 7'4" or something. he's probably going to be Really Stubborn avoid the uniform for as long as he can...
but the day he does he'll probably wear a black one with modifications to make it look as close to his current clothes as possible (red is a good, christmasy color!!). and yeah he'd definitely go around with the hood up sometimes because hoods are great. unfortunately my drawing skills stopped developing at the age of 5 but if you really wanted some terrible stick figures (warning, they're awful) drawn with a mouse let me know and i'll try my best. . .
I am totally open for some requests and also offering up Pearl for people to draw if they want?? My drawings will most likely be quick little sketches, as seen in the following examples. Sadly, I will only be able to do this tonight, seeing as I will be out of town from the 10th-13th...ish.
SO. She's swapped out her canon outfit for the uniform, buuut from the waist up she only wears the coat...she's sticking with her sarashi delinquent aesthetic. she's also torn the sleeves off (literally, with her bare hands, what an idiot) and has handwrap too for both hands
someone mention offhand (heh) that it's a good idea so she can be like "oh it protects your hands??? i just thought it looked cool" despite her athleticism she knows fuckall about sports
the only other thing is she's keeping her hat because surprisingly it has sentimental value and isn't just to further cement her role as the jojo reference of her series, so it'll be a cold day in nalawi before she loses it

Shadow likes the PURPLE version of the uniform best, because its... nice. Ok. But he will also wear the black. He will not where the white. He frequently wears just the hoodie; no shirt, no pants. He wears the gloves that come with the uniform, sometimes with the fingers cut out, and he always has on his inhibitor rings over his wrists and ankles
He doesn't always wear the pants, and he always has on his extra special shoes. He also wears his communicator jewelry stacked over his inhibitor ring on his left wrist.
If you need a more anthropomorphized version (and how I personally see him in my minds eye), I love this version dearly.
well BASICALLY Keats doesn't look all that different from his regular self because he essentially just switched out one purple coat for another! He still kept his green vest and tie and his pants and boots, though, because he's hardly going to throw away his wardrobe for the sake of ALASTAIR, thank you very much!
His communicator jewelry comes in the form of a toque, which is a bracelet sort of thing you wear on your neck (which, fun fact, was apparently worn by Celtic warriors THE MORE YOU KNOW) - he keeps it on at all times, but it's barely visible behind his collar.
I AM AN ARTIST but sadly, I have little to no time to draw anything save for quick sketch commissions at $7! Maybe I'll doodle some of you guys when I get the chance to, though
but i do TONS of doodles. if you have me on plurk, i do what's called "angry doodle corner", which is stupid, nonsensical doodles. i really don't care about style, all i care about are dumb situations.
there's a running gag between dan and i that ban is gordon ramsey or something. likeso. i was binge watching "kitchen nightmares" and "seven deadly sins" one week, then that's how it started.
everything is PURPLE or BLACK with white highlights because she is a serious lady with serious needs (or something like that). for the most part she sticks with the default uniform with minimal alterations but she's swapped out the fancy black gloves for simple fingerless gloves because they're more practical with handheld weapons. i forgot was too lazy to draw it in, but she's also got a belt with gun holsters that she wears at her waist. also she's probably going to start wearing her hair down because it's a pain to pin it up all the time.
i have no art skills to speak of and even less time to use those nonexistent art skills but i'll see if i can doodle some stuff later this month because everyone at this bar is great and i love you guys. >:c
jfc y'all are really talented??? UM mainly just as a reference for what kind of small witch child you're interacting with, please excuse the bad pencil and dirty phone pic... so Sieglinde normally looks like this. She's tiny as hell and wears fancy medieval German gowns with a fancy hennin headdress (though recently she's been experimenting with such modem styles as "simple braids" and "loose with some ribbons"). She has only worn pants once in her life and she's not keen to repeat that, so as for her uniform, she'll wear the purple jacket with white shirt and get a hold of at least a knee-length poofy black skirt. Mainly because she has atrophied chicken legs to go with her bound feet and no one needs to see that. Custom boots to fit her feet? The rest she would leave unaltered though, congrats to the uniform designer!!!
I may attempt a shitty design sketch in a little bit (traditional art is not my strong suit) but Kojuro will probably accept the shirt and pants (black pls white garments are so impractical) and then just... wear his own armor and coat on top. Not that the issued coat is bad, he just... has one already, and is rather fond of it (I mean, I would be, it's ankle-length leather). He may end up refashioning some of the uniforms into looser work clothes though because he's more used to that.
BUT IN ALL SERIOUSNESS, Alisha wears the white version of the uniform! As far as customization goes, she still has her armor, so she wears her gauntlets and greaves over the uniform. While she usually has her overcoat, the back of her shirt has the Hyland coat of arms. (Or it will... somehow... Not that Alisha knows how to sew/embroider but SURELY SHE CAN FIND HELP FOR THAT RIGHT.)
And in complete seriousness she really does still wear her hotpants. :')
god Tales designs really do just live at the confluence of 'cute and visually engaging' and 'but why would someone wear that'.
Kojuro can sew though not... really embroider. Mostly because his skillset is more 'fixing damage on the battlefield' kind of stuff. But better than nothing?
I gave up on trying to draw like a decade ago, and I'm not going to subject anyone to any renewed efforts now. But that's okay, because Motochika's already dressed like this so he'll just swap one purple coat with white trim for another. Maybe he won't cut this one in half and tie the bottom around his waist, but I make no promises.
Sooo I have no art abilities whatsoever so I will just lay my characters down as humble offerings. For possible reference, I have Steven Universe as well as Dick Gumshoe. Both of them would probably wear their uniforms normally, except that Gumshoe would try to wear his old beaten-up green trenchcoat over it because he's weird like that (possibly in place of the jacket altogether?). I think both of them would also favor purple over black in the designs, but anyone who wants to take a swing should feel free to go with whatever works best for them (Steven does seem to be canonically Good At Fashion, at least).
I'm still tinkering and learning to use my tablet after years of pen and paper sketches and all but. I have Sakura and she probably has the purple uniform as default because it would look cute. I could say white on occasion with her school uniform back home but. I love me some purple, guys. She's probably using the jacket, a short black skirt and tall boots prob idk knee or thigh length because she is used to this with Tomoyo by now. Her jewelery is a necklace. She also has a little bird whistle from Graham as well, also around her neck along with the obvious Sealing Wand. But those could easily be tucked down into her shirt/uniform.
Also. Sorey. He probably has the white option by default if only because of the similarities to his Shepherd garb back home. idk if he could manage to wear the Shepherd mantle thing over top of the ALASTAIR uniform exactly. If not, then he's just running around in his blue shirt, black pants and boots with the ALASTAIR jacket over top or something I guess. He's got an earring (another one, yes), for his jewelry.
I have no access to scanners, a mechanical pencil eraser with only a nanometer left to spare, and zero reference while holidaying with the fam but dangit I drew anyway....I tried to meagerly photoshop these into some presentable state but it's all. Uh. Pretty sloppy. I took pictures of the sketches with my phone. 8( REGARDLESS HERE IS MABEL as she will be once her sweater burns to ashes thanks to fire horses. (the moment she gets her hands on yarn and needles she's making another one mark my words)
She's stubborn and sticking to her skirt and shoes and headband. Give her yarn she doesn't want the jacket life.
I have other arts i need to finish and also post but it's gonna have to wait until next week. Perhaps I'll clean these up too. You guys are all excessively talented, your stuff all looks so lovely and polished and colourful, wails in jealousy!!
I did this two days ago... just in time for this meme, whoa!! You've seen this already if you're on my plurk, I haven't drawn anything Futuro related since then WHOOPS.
I didn't do any modifications because idk I may or may not do some, I just wanted to see what Dipper would look like in the uniform. And he looks like a total loser lmao though he'd probably put it on because he thinks it makes him look ~cool~. This poor bean.
