MISSION: HANABIRA PLOTTING

After Mission: Viridian Sea (the test drive meme), characters will have spent a week on Headquarters before receiving the dossier for Mission: Hanabira. They will have five days to prepare, but please do not log anything out until the mission starts! The game doesn't officially reopen until the first log of Mission: Hanabira.

Mission breakdown:

• The first log will go up on January 15th.
  
• The mission is tentatively scheduled to last until mid-March, but this may change depending on character action.
  
• The Bounty Board will be posted once the mission begins.
  
• View the dossier for all ICly-known information about what to expect.
  
• Characters are encouraged to blend in, and will be outfitted with appropriate clothing before their arrival.

▸ OFFERED CR: rey is a capable fighter with staff, blaster, and lightsaber; she's a decent pilot and a good mechanic; she has the force, which allows her to use telepathy and telekinesis. she also has really intense parent abandonment issues. she can also escort any dudes who need it around the mountain clan.
▸ PLANS: rey's going to be out of her element in most conceivable ways on hanabira. she's not a negotiator for a reason. she can be sometimes impulsive, so she'll probably marry side with whichever empire she encounters first and seems humane. i can definitely foresee her getting distracted by the novelty of hot springs and the murder of ogres and anything bounty-related.

▸ DESIRED CR: Right now, I'm open to just about anything. I know that's probably a little lame to say, but since we're kicking things off, I'm really looking for any amount of CR. Alucard is a little reluctant to socialize personally at first, but he can definitely warm up to people.

▸ PERSONALITY: Kylo Ren is Very Stern. Since he's coming from towards the end of TLJ, he is also considerably unhinged. He hasn't gone Full Crazy yet, but he's on the edge of it. He'll be spending a lot of time trying to Deal With Himself on multiple levels.

He likes to think that he is the strong silent type, and happens to have very strong opinions on politics and religion* (*the Jedi). Also he's not actually all that silent, but he likes to think he is. His temper is on a hairpin trigger and he's really easy to annoy and infuriate -- which could be hilarious or terrible depending on your sense of humor. As such, he's extremely hard to get close to...but if he decides he likes you in any capacity, everyone else who gets near you will probably end up near the business end of the lightsaber before they can blink. Yes, even your friends. He's very protective of people who like him, because there are not very many of them.

▸ DESIRED CR: Ren is generally on the look out for people who will be useful, or people he can manipulate into doing dirty work he doesn't feel like doing. Strictly business -- he personally doesn't want anyone getting too close to him, because that's how people find WEAKNESSES!!!! And he wants to find YOUR weakness, not the other way around.

(That said, I'd love for people to try and worm their way into his frigid little husk of a soul. Help him see some light.)

▸ OFFERED CR: As stated above, Kylo Ren is a glorified attack dog. If you can stand his presence long enough to pretend to be interested in his life or his problems, you'll have his ear for life (until you do something to piss him off). There is almost no in between with this boy -- its all or nothing.

He can also:

- Spit weird space propaganda at you
- Be a punching bag training buddy
- Give you a black and white solution to a problem with no consideration of your feelings.

▸ PLANS: Kylo Ren has memories of ALASTAIR! So he will be spending some of his early time trying to reconcile those with all of his new knowledge about the galaxy, his dead dad, and other things about certain mentors of his that he may not be too keen on anymore.

He is...also going to probably need a babysitter for this mission,
given that he's 6 foot huge and not exactly easy to hide.

▸ PERSONALITY: A literal rock with a short temper. Likes being logical and efficient and gets irritable and snappish with people being reckless or stupid. No patience at all for those who aren't doing their part or who don't care about improving wherever possible. Not great with people in general and often comes across as much harsher and more intimidating than they want to.
▸ DESIRED CR:
+ People to generally be a weird rock at! They'll find all you organic folks pretty pathetic and gross and regular bodily functions like eating and bleeding and whatnot will get a mixed bag of disdain and confusion out of them. Their own weird rock habits and whatnot will likely provide just as many shenanigans.
+ Patient older characters might hit a weird soft spot for them.
+ Same goes for extremely kind and gentle sorts. They'll still be an asshole, but. Yeah.
+ I'm pretty open to anything right now but I'd definitely love any kind of CR that they can really get invested in so they have reason to give a shit here beyond getting their incentive.
▸ OFFERED CR:
+ Negative CR! Bortz is pretty damn likely to rub some people the wrong way, if not by being overtly mean than by being extremely aloof and uninterested in others.
+ 100% ready to critique how others fight and tell them what they can do to improve. If anyone can get over their harsh manner and recognize it for the sincere, legitimate advice it is, they might be willing to kinda-sorta give guidance/lessons.
+ Surprisingly easy to drag into more lighthearted shenanigans during downtime. If there's nothing to fight and no mission to focus on? Yeah, fine, they'll play along with your games and whatnot.
▸ PLANS: Bortz is always very focused and determined to complete their given tasks to the best of their ability so they will be giving that mission 110%. That said, they aren't much for handling situations and making judgement calls that don't involve battle, so. They may flounder a little. Point them at anything that needs fighting, but otherwise they'll be surprisingly ready to follow the lead of people better suited to negotiations and peacekeeping this mission requires. They also have a pretty feminine appearance despite being, y'know, a genderless rock, so they can probably step in where male characters need female assistance.

▸ PERSONALITY: a princess that likes to Challenge Her Fate, or something. she fills a very typical "nice protag" role, except take self-sacrifice and the Power of Teamwork and crank it up to like 20000 ( so any other jrpg protag + murder ). she's very loyal / almost blindly trusts the people she cares about, and will defend them forever. exceedingly patient and kind ( until she's Not ), though she has a habit of taking things literally/seriously. that said, she has a stubborn streak and tends to believe She Is Right more often times than not.

also her humor sucks and her fashion sense sucks even more.
▸ DESIRED CR:

• in her transistion from s1 to s2, she lost a lot of her support system. so i'll definitely be looking to rebuild that!! basically, more friends.
• on the flip side, it's surprisingly difficult to get negative cr because she's so ... nice. if anyone wants to attempt getting off on the wrong foot and devolving into Worse Things with me, that'd be great!!
• i've been yelling about this since day one but the sentinel team is a mess of different personalities, please give me sentinel cr. ( see the "offered" section for details ).
• for how Nice and Serious she is, she's surprisingly flexible in where her cr can go! the obligatory anything goes here, which will always and forever be a cop-out answer but it will never stop being true, either.

▸ OFFERED CR:

• she's someone who puts the team first/is huge on teamwork!! this can mean getting along excellently with anyone, but she can also clash with other leader-ish types, or be completely rebuked by a lone-wolf type ( if at first you don't succeed, try, try again... ). there's limits to this, but tl;dr she's good at shounen speeches.
• honestly she's kind of stupid in a gullible way. if you can provide a "noble" enough reason, she can be convinced to do a lot ( note, i am 100% an endorser of Stupid Shit )
• she's an excellent protector/caretaker/mom friend! let her be your meatshield, your rescuer, your sword-fighting teacher, a Big Sis, etc.
• on that note, if there's anyone that needs to be coaxed into accepting their role as a sentinel, she's here to ( nicely ) shove the message down your character's throats. your character does not have to take this nicely. i live for conflict.
• oh yeah she got a wyvern from season 1, if you like pet cr with baby wyverns i'm also here for pet cr with baby wyverns.

▸ PLANS: lucina's going to follow the objective pretty closely — she's no negotiator, and the time period is a little closer to what she's familiar with ( compared to the other missions, anyway )!! so while she'll be much more comfortable, she'll still be patient and scope out both places before she can make a decision, etc. basically standard mission stuff, she's not very exciting 8(

i think this first mission is going to be me focusing heavily on people she can form attachments with (whether she likes it or not!) so she won't be too heavily involved in any decision-making. she isn't really one in canon anyway, and while she may have her own opinions/reservations, for the most part she will probably go along with the majority's decision... though if it's something she disagrees with, she may not keep too quiet about it, even if she goes along with it. 8');; ALSO HMU IF YOU NEED A GIRL CHAPERONE she'll find the shift in tone to be pretty cool tbh

He's a friendly, talkative nerd who is sometimes a little overeager to get into trouble because it's exciting. He's like 5'3" and likes to be hugged. His best friend is Rhys, but there's no accounting for taste, right?
▸ DESIRED CR: He has literally never had negative CR, and while I'm totally okay with that, it would be kind of funny if he did at some point. That aside though, not to be That Guy but I really do love all kinds of CR! A lot of his close CR from S1 is gone so he needs to make more friends.
▸ OFFERED CR: He's pretty chatty, so whether you have an equally-chatty character or a quiet one, he will probably talk to/at them. And possibly hug them at some point. Be warned, I guess. Also he's good at math, though I'd be amazed if that ever lead to CR. Basically, he was unpopular most of his life because he's a nerd so now he wants to be friends with everyone.

▸ PERSONALITY: Daenerys is polite and regal, with a pretty playful and girlish sense of humor for those she ends up liking. (Seriously, she's made a butt joke and laughed at a puke one.) Her compassionate, nurturing side is at constant war with her violent "dragon" side, and she can be quite mercurial. She's a good and inspiring leader with a quiet dignity (mostly because presenting her best face to the world is of the utmost importance to her) and a great deal of charisma, but is still learning how to do things in half-measures as opposed to swinging from one end of the pendulum to the other. Note: She pretty much screams queen queen queen in her demeanor.
▸ DESIRED CR: People who are grumpy old men in spirit, people for hairbraiding, ladies for a break in her usual sausage fest surroundings (a curse of her canon; would especially love one to become a confidante), people to prove wrong re: their preconceived notions of her.
▸ OFFERED CR: Someone to mother and protect, someone to rein in your loose cannon, someone to be a weirdly stabilizing influence to your insecure panda. Bring her your misfits; she's essentially the misfit queen.
▸ PLANS: Short term? Trying to find the best possible solution to the Hanabira debacle so that war is avoided. She's sympathetic to both sides, which is a new scenario for her. She'll also gladly bring any men with her who want to tag along exploring or chatting up the locals. Long term? Just struggling to find a stable position in the murder triangle as they worldhop and learn how to queen better by negotiating. She's also got her hands on a very special and convenient book from the Citadel in Westeros, which she is very slowly making her way through to learn more about her legacy. Also working to embrace her house words while learning what it means to be a compassionate conqueror, which is seemingly an oxymoron.

▸ PERSONALITY: A combat android who was fighting on behalf of humanity to retake Earth from an army of alien machines. Cool and serious, often comes off as distant or even frigid. She takes her responsibilities extremely seriously, and always focuses on business. 2B is actually a gentle, thoughtful woman with a strong sense of empathy; she just rarely shows it. Fighting in the war and serving the purpose she was created for has made its mark on her.

All YoRHa androids are sworn to serve humanity, and thus, she'll defer to (and maybe even look up to) any humans she encounters.

▸ DESIRED CR: I JUST GOT HERE... so really, anything! BUT JUST TO HAVE SOMETHING TO SAY. I'd love for 2B to make some friends, especially female friends; she's quiet and stoic, so characters who are chatty and friendly tend to get on with her the best. Other robots. Also, characters who are friends with 9S (bestaround), since they'll probably be sticking together a lot.

▸ PERSONALITY: Prickly and evasive about his feelings, Keith can seem like a hard nut to crack at times. He isn't very good at other people because he's socially awkward, and he isn't always the best at reading social cues (or even being aware that a particular social cue exists). While he's a returnee from S1 and therefore he's grown a bit, he's not entirely trusting of Hathaway's intentions just yet.
▸ DESIRED CR: Overall, people who will push and challenge Keith a bit. He tends to avoid things that he's not comfortable with, and part of his being here has to do with that. It's hard to figure out what he isn't comfortable with because he tends to yell at people for not doing what he is comfortable with, but yes.
▸ OFFERED CR: I'd really like to have Keith focus on training newcomers in season two. He knows he needs to learn patience with people, but that doesn't mean he's going to be good at it. In fact, he'll probably be a terrible teacher/trainer.
▸ PLANS: Keith is going to love the outdoors aspects of being in this world, but he'll strongly dislike the idea of needing a chaperone with the Mountain Clan, and will likely be avoiding any talks with them. Which is good, as no one wants him talking to them anyway. I'd like Keith to wander off into the woods at some point for some peace and quiet. I wouldn't mind an orge attack of some sort as Keith gets into a situation he shouldn't be in.

▸ PERSONALITY: Veronica is the outgoing half of the Betty&Veronica duo on Riverdale, making her an extremely extroverted teenager who doesn't seem to realize when she's in over her head. The funny thing is, she does know, as she's the voice of reason when it comes to a lot of antics in the show. (Veronica isn't one for optimism, though her cherry personality may indicate a different perspective.) She is a bit of a romantic when it comes to ideal friendships, but intimacy beyond that can be a little hard. Not that she makes this obvious at all. Above all else, she's a force of nature when she wants to get something done.
▸ DESIRED CR: People that Veronica can be friends with! While she is a touch out of her element, she will want to plow forward as if she isn't. That means making friends, learning as much as she can, and becoming smarter for it. Her endgame in being here will require her to have a bigger view of the world, though she hasn't entirely realized that yet.
▸ OFFERED CR: Veronica is good for both slice of life-style CR (makeovers, dancing, singing, shit like that) and also for enabling people into doing something ... or questioning whether it's a good idea. She's both an enabler and someone who can balance out someone else's poor decisions.
▸ PLANS: Veronica is going to love this world. She will probably start out on the side of the Mountain Clan, but we'll see how that shakes out as time passes. Nature isn't really her thing, so she'll be focusing on getting to know the natives. I'd love for her to have a boy on her arm who's meant to be her servant of sorts while heading in to the Mountain Clan negotiations.

▸ OFFERED CR: Do you need a guy with hidden depths? Who looks like a boy scout but has laser eyes and can/would hustle a mean game of pool if necessary? Someone to watch your back and never give up on you ever? Someone to be a stiff-necked pain who will point out all the flaws in why that thing you're about to do is a really bad idea? Do you have powers and have mixed feelings about them? Someone who'll ruthlessly throw down AND advocate for a peaceful resolution, whichever is more tactically prudent at the time?
▸ PLANS: Try to find a diplomatic resolution to the conflict without any bloodshed, possibly looking at some kind of treaty that would allow for shared resource access. The solution can be upfront and out in the open or maybe involve some back-door dealing, provided it's not grossly unscrupulous. Sometimes you gotta let people save face in private. Scott's still sussing out a) who he's working for, and b) how this all works, so his go-to will be to avoid a battle because A) principle, and B) doesn't it look really shitty if on their first mission it erupts into prolonged civil war?
